WaterAid
The text used by the WaterAid organisation is very basic and simple. The organisation is clearly trying the get their message across to the reader/receiver of this text by simply explaining what they do in the most basic form they can. By having little amounts of text that is spread out, the receiver of the text is more likely to read it and take in the message that the organisation is trying to get across. There is a very minimal use of adjectives in this text as they are not necessary for what the organisation is trying to do. When text is blocked and there's a lot of it, people tend to be more avoidant of it, therefore this text is incising people into reading it by being short, simple and straight to the point. The language used in the post is very blatant and honest. The organisation doesn't used politeness strategies to get the attention of the reader, they are very to the point with what is happening to the people in countries that do not have clean water or sanitary living conditions. In the title of the writing, specific parts of the writing are a different colour to the rest of the text. These words need to be emphasised in order to get the message across. These words are a bright yellow colour which is the contrasting colour that the message of the words gets across. Usually, the use of the colour yellow would be for a positive message or to create a positive mood within the text, however, the words are highlighted to emphasis the opposite of the stereotypical behaviours associated with these behaviours. It is crucial for the readers of this text to be informed with the hard facts. The readers of this text most likely would have gone on to this text on their own doing which means that they are already showing some form of interest in the organisation. If the consumer of the text is already slightly interested or interested in being involved in the organisation then it is important that they knows the facts and issues that the organisation is faced with.
The text is very unnoticeable compared to the pictures that is placed within the text. The pictures have a clear way of portraying the message that is being put across and shows the problems that the organisation is trying to solve.
